Last month when we had our first cold snap accompanied by SLEET, I was driving back to work from my lunch hour and I passed a man at a bus stop wearing a normal Corpus Christi jacket. Problem was, this was not normal Corpus Christi weather! I felt cold for him!! I was compelled by the Spirit to turn my car around and go back to him. I was reminded of James 2:16, “If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed’, but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?” I knew I must help this person in some small way. I took off my scarf and gloves and literally put them on him. He protested a little, and thanked me alot!
That night, I went through my bag of unused yarn and decided to make scarves, keep them in my car and give them out as the Spirit leads. It is not much, but I feel I am fulfilling James 2:16.
