Happy Birthday to Me!

My little sister and I both had birthdays in December. Her birthday was December 6th and mine the 19th. When she was really little and we all gathered around to sing Happy Birthday to her and all the attention was on her, she would tear up and cry and ask them to sing “Happy Birthday to Pam” instead. It’s still a joke in my family, and I am frequently heard to sing “Happy Birthday to me” when my day rolls around. I recently learned of a local woman who just celebrated her 60th birthday by asking her friends and family for a special gift for her birthday. She asked them to do one random act of kindness on her birthday and to let her know what it was. Some of her friends and family really got into the act and so she blogged about it (see http://www.piddlinperfected.blogspot.com/). What an inspirational way to celebrate the you that God made! It got me to thinking. Wouldn’t it be rather fun if we as life groups sought out one act of kindness in the month ahead and did it and told each other about it? How about it? Are you in? Ok. For February, each group does one act of kindness and sends me an email so I can share on our website! Let me hear your stories!

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing Pam . . . I’ll come sing Happy Birthday to you
