Luke Brawner will be leading worship at Fellowship of Oso Creek on Sunday, June 24.

A little about Luke:
I am a Christian/ husband/ musician/ songwriter/ MMA fan/ college dropout. I have 1 beard, 2 vintage pianos (that I don’t really know how to play), and 1 guitar. i have the most amazingly beautiful, talented, fun, funny and sweet wife in the world. i play in a band called Poor Rich Folk with my three best friends aside from my wife and family. i lead worship at a church in NW Houston, which is interesting in the context of my opinions about corporate church and Western Christianity in general (but i swear i’m not a sellout or a hypocrite). i speak Haitian Creole fluently, which has proved to be virtually useless living in Texas.

Luke’s new album, Flannelgraph Sessions, is a series of 12 songs inspired & influenced by the idea that the Bible can only really be understood when studied in the context of real space & time. “I’m convinced that we can’t begin to understand the things Jesus did & said without first understanding the world & culture in which He did & said them. His religious background, His geography, His lineage…these things all matter.” said Brawner. The goal of his project is to stir listeners’ interest in the Old Testament, in Judaism (& Christianity as a part thereof), the land & culture of the Bible, etc.  Join us as Luke leads worship on June 24.
